Change came swiftly this year...

Happy New Year to all!     Man... 2008 was pretty crazy.  Ended up being good to me, though.

I went through my graduation ceremony for nursing school in May,  and officially graduated in August after completing my clinical capstone over the summer.  I really enjoyed that experience!

I  worked  at the St. Louis Ren Faire, selling  silky & jingly scarves.  I also met a boy there - a man - who expressed interest in me, and would later ask me to be his girlfriend in mid-June (after faire).

This lovely man & I dated over the summer, and worked together again at the St. Louis Pirate Fest in September.  He subsequently proposed to me there on September 28... to which I of course responded YES!!!!!

We were happily married on December 21, 2008.  We are also expecting a child - a boy! - at the end of March or so.

I am studying for NCLEX, my nursing boards test.  I plan to apply for a job as an RN once I pass.  My husband just got a new job at a place called LifeTouch, and he starts on either the 14th or 19th of this month.

Other than jobs, our plans for the next few months also include finding our own place to live - be it a house, or an apartment.  We're living at his mom's house for the moment.

I've also become the adopted "mommy" to his "son" Hiei - a cuddly but vicious (when irritated) little black  one-year-old kitten.   That's all for now... til next time! ~

my life as a movie... the soundtrack!

If your life were a movie, what would the soundtrack be?  I decided to find out the answer to this question by following a few simple directions:  a. Open your music library (iTunes, iPod, Winamp, whatever).   b. Hit Shuffle & Play.   c. For the first question/category, write down the song that is playing at that time.   d. Hit next for the next question, write down the song, and so on for each question.  Don't cheat & try to pretend you're cool!

 Here goes....

 1. Opening credits: "Finally" - Ce Ce Peniston   ~  Not bad!  Yay 90s songs..

 2. Waking up: "Dance" - (Xxx) Euro House Mix   ~  Would def wake me up!

 3. First day at school: "In My Dreams" - Darkness   ~  haha

 4. Falling in love: "Blue Jeans" - Silvertide   ~  Hell yeah!!  Wait... does that mean I'm a lesbian?  or is it describing me?  meh I still like it!

 5. Fight song: "Sandstorm (Dance Mania Remix)" - Darude vs. Klubbheads   ~  Awwww yeah!!

 6. Breaking up: "Waiting for Tonight (techno remix)" - J Lo   ~  seriously?? lol kinda odd but okay.

 7. Prom: "Silver Bells" - Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, et al.  ~  Aww... that's sweet!  Apparently my prom is at Christmastime.

 8. Life: "What is Love (Baby Don't Hurt Me)" - Haddaway   ~  No shyt!!  haha I love it.

 9. Mental breakdown: "Trance Emotion" - DJ Mystik   ~  eh it works.. & it's fun!

 10. Driving: "Whiskey in the Jar" - Clancy & Makem w/Flogging Molly   ~  Right on!!

 11. Flashback: "Radio" - The Corrs   ~  Lovely...

 12. Wedding: "Get Ready 4 This" - 2 Unlimited (Jock Jams)   ~  LMFAO!!!  That's just hilarious... apparently everyone will be wearing running shoes.

 13. Birth of a child: "Autumn in Ganymede" - Cowboy Bebop   ~  Random, but sweet!

 14. Final battle: "Too Much" - The Spice Girls   ~  hahahaha wow... that is "too much".

 15. Death scene: "Enchanted Forest III" - Mannheim Steamroller (Halloween Monster Mix)   ~  hey, it fits!  kinda.

 16. Funeral song: "Riverdance" (not sure which one, but it's lively..)   ~  I would love that!!

 17. End credits: "The Blood of Cu Chulainn" (aka the Boondock Saints themesong) - Mychael & Jeff Danna    ~  Oh seriously... that f'ing ROCKS!!!!

~ Live to blog another day... muah!

spring break

So... I go home on Friday night.  No sandy sun-drenched beaches this year!

No friends - I will spend 5 days in my hometown of Concordia.  I may have a swim here...

I fancy getting myself a haircut... I just hope it turns out well!

I also plan to peruse volumes of choice literature for intellectual amusement.

Cleaning my room is also on the agenda.

Working out is very important to me - as is practicing my Irish dance!

Other sorts of mayhem are likely to ensue... I can't wait!

venting... ranting... yeah.

 Just so you know....

I am not here to agree with you.
I am not here to disagree with you!
I am not here to please you.
I am not here to displease you.
I am NOT here for YOU!

I am here for ME. I don't care if that sounds selfish. I'm a Leo and an only child... it comes with the territory!

 I WILL LISTEN to you.
 I will talk to you.

You will not agree with everything I do and say.
We will rarely be on the same page.

 I AM my own person.
I am continually learning about that person.

Do not peg me into some mold!
 Do not tie me down!
That sort of thing makes me antsy.

 I do what I want.
  ... where I want.
  ... when I want.
  ... how I want.
  ... with whom I want.

 That is all.

*** Disclaimer: this is NOT directed at a specific person.  I wanted to vent these things.  I have done so.  Please do not ask me if this is about you.  I rant... therefore I am! ***

A tribute to my obsession with Google Images...

So... I've seen some good movies lately.

They have been very entertaining!   I also finally saw the very first episode of Futurama...  that was freakin' sweet.

Not to worry, now - my life has not been entirely consumed with movies.   My interests also include things like... my hair.  It is ge
tting longer, and I like it.   Wanna see?!?

Oh yes... so hot - I gotta wear shades.   Mama sita... muy caliente!!!

There are also boys.  Guys.  Men.  Yeah... Rose is single & dating.   Watch out, world.
